Dynamic & CMS-Driven Sites
Some projects need more than a static site: blogs with frequent updates, multi-author news hubs, admin dashboards, or applications that require a database and a CMS. These dynamic sites are scoped and priced differently from our static packages.
Growth Site with CMS (dynamic)
From $1,800- Blog or news section powered by a CMS and database
- Author/editor logins and admin interface
- Deployment pipeline for code and content updates
- Includes everything in the Growth Site static package, plus backend and CMS setup
- Ongoing hosting and care billed separately based on infrastructure needs
Program / Campus Site with CMS (dynamic)
From $3,000- Dynamic multi-section or multi-location site managed through a CMS
- Role-based access for admins, editors, and contributors where needed
- Application and database infrastructure tailored to your programs
- Includes everything in the Program / Campus static package, plus backend and CMS setup
- Ongoing hosting and care billed separately based on infrastructure needs
Dynamic and CMS-powered sites (for example, WordPress or custom database-backed apps) cannot be hosted on our $25/mo Essential Care tier. They require their own hosting and care pricing, which starts higher and is quoted based on your stack and expected traffic.
Dynamic or CMS-based sites we build can be deployed on managed VPS environments like those below, with monthly management tailored to your stack.
Website Care & Hosting Plans
Keep your site online and current.
Pick a month-to-month care plan so your website stays online, secure, and up to date without your team touching the backend.
Note: All OBWS-hosted websites require at least our Essential Care plan. We do not offer standalone hosting without an active care plan.
Essential Care
$25/mo- Billed month-to-month; cancel or change plans with notice as described in your agreement
- For static, non-database websites hosted on our shared multi-region cluster (no WordPress or other CMS/apps)
- Managed hosting on our modern stack
- SSL certificate management
- Daily backups with restores on request
- Uptime monitoring
- Includes registration and renewal of one primary domain per hosted site (up to $25 per renewal)
- Standard DNS management for that primary domain
Standard Care
$75/mo- Billed month-to-month; cancel or change plans with notice as described in your agreement
- Everything in Essential Care (including primary domain registration/renewal up to $25 per year)
- Up to 1 hour per month of content or minor technical changes
- Quarterly site health and basic SEO check
- Priority email support
- Dynamic or CMS-based sites (such as WordPress) require custom hosting and care pricing scoped to your stack and traffic
Full Care
$150/mo- Billed month-to-month; cancel or change plans with notice as described in your agreement
- Everything in Standard Care (including primary domain registration/renewal up to $25 per year)
- Up to 3 hours per month of content and technical work
- Quarterly review or strategy call
- Proactive performance and security tuning
- Dynamic or CMS-based sites (such as WordPress) require custom hosting and care pricing scoped to your stack and traffic
Care plan rates are per-site, per-month and billed month-to-month. Pricing may be updated over time to reflect changes in infrastructure and vendor costs; any changes for existing clients will be communicated in advance.
Essential Care pricing assumes a static site with no running application or database. Dynamic or CMS-based sites use different infrastructure and will be quoted at higher monthly rates.
Domains, DNS & Email
Keep domains renewed and email deliverable.
We handle registration, DNS records, and renewals so your domain stays online and points where it should.
Domains & DNS Management
For OBWS-hosted sites on an active care plan:
- Registration and renewal of one primary domain per hosted site (up to $25 per year) is included in Essential Care and higher tiers
- Standard DNS management for that primary domain is included
Additional domains:
- Domains that exceed $25 per renewal, or any extra domains beyond your included primary, are billed at registrar cost plus a management fee
- Additional domain management typically starts at $20/yr per additional domain, plus registrar cost; we disclose these costs in your quote or renewal notice
Primary domain registration and DNS management for hosted sites are bundled with our website care plans and are not sold as standalone hosting.
Email on Your Domain
These services extend our Communication & Collaboration offerings for managed email and VOIP.
Setup & onboarding
- Configure a modern email provider (for example, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace)
- Add DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Create initial mailboxes and key aliases
Ongoing admin (optional)
- Starting at $3/mailbox/mo (minimum $15/mo)
- Add or remove users, plus update aliases and groups
- Basic deliverability and spam troubleshooting
Transferring Your Domain Away From OBWS
If we are managing your domain today and you later decide to move it to a different registrar or provider, we will cooperate with that transfer. However, there are important responsibilities and costs that belong to you as the domain owner.
- You retain rights to your domain. As long as your account is in good standing and the domain is eligible for transfer under registry rules, you may request that we unlock the domain and provide the transfer authorization (EPP/Auth) code.
- You are responsible for third-party fees. Any transfer fee, renewal fee, or other charges imposed by the gaining registrar or provider are your responsibility. OBWS does not pay or reimburse those third-party costs.
- We may charge an administrative transfer fee. To cover coordination, verification, unlocking, code generation, and DNS coordination, we may charge a reasonable one-time administrative transfer fee. If we do, we will disclose that fee before you approve the transfer.
- All open invoices must be resolved first. Any unpaid invoices related to your website, care plan, or domain services must be paid before we complete a transfer. Once your account is current, we will proceed promptly with the transfer steps within our control.
- You are responsible for DNS after the domain moves. Once the domain leaves our systems, your new provider becomes responsible for DNS records. We can provide a current zone export or screenshots on request, but you (or your new provider) are responsible for recreating those records and preventing downtime.
- Timing and renewal dates matter. Domains cannot be transferred during certain lock periods or after they have expired, per registry rules. If you wait until just before a renewal deadline, you may be forced to renew with the current registrar first or risk losing the domain. Start transfers several weeks before renewal.
Primary domains bundled with our care plans remain yours, but registries and providers control their own pricing, renewal rules, and transfer policies. We will assist with the process but cannot override those policies.
Cloud VPS & Server Management
Dedicated capacity for apps, databases, and services.
Some workloads need more than shared hosting: dedicated application servers, databases, background jobs, or specialized services. We provision and manage cloud VPS and servers on platforms like DigitalOcean, Fly.io, Linode, or similar providers.
Server & VPS Provisioning (one-time)
Application or VPS Setup
From $250- Provision a Linux or Windows server with a reputable cloud provider
- Apply basic hardening (accounts, firewall, security updates)
- Configure one primary application or service stack
- Document access and basic operational notes
Database or Supporting Service Setup
From $300- Provision and secure a managed or self-hosted database (for example, PostgreSQL or MySQL)
- Configure backups and basic monitoring hooks
- Connect to your application or CMS
Cloud provider fees (compute, storage, bandwidth, managed DB, etc.) are billed by the provider or passed through to you separately. Our fees cover design, provisioning, and configuration.
Managed VPS & Server Care (monthly)
Basic Managed VPS
From $100/mo- OS patching and security updates
- Basic uptime monitoring and alerting
- Monthly health review and log spot-checks
- Coordination with your cloud provider for incidents
Standard Managed Stack
From $200/mo- Everything in Basic Managed VPS
- Application process monitoring and restarts
- Backup verification checks
- Up to 1 hour per month of change requests (tuning, config changes, minor deployments)
Advanced Managed Environment
Custom- Multi-node or multi-region setups
- High-availability databases or clusters
- Detailed performance tuning and incident response
- Integration with your internal IT team or MSP
These prices cover our management work only. You remain responsible for all underlying cloud provider charges (instances, disks, managed databases, bandwidth, etc.), which we will estimate with you during planning.
